Privacy Policy

Overview

JANK is a word and culture game. This policy explains the information JANK collects, why we use it, and the choices available to you when you play our app or use our related services.

Information we collect

• Player profile information. When you begin playing, JANK creates an anonymous player identifier and profile so it can save your progress, scores, unlocked content, and eligible access. JANK does not require an email address or password to play.
• Optional email updates. If you ask for JANK slang challenges or game news, we collect your email address, opt-in choice, subscription status, and the named campaign that brought you to the signup. Email signup is optional and is not required to see your quiz result or play.
• Website and quiz activity. We measure guide visits, quiz starts and completions, score-sharing actions, game and store-link clicks, and email opt-ins to understand which campaigns bring people into JANK. Quiz analytics do not contain your email address or search queries.
• Gameplay information. We may store gameplay progress, game results, unlocked content, and related game activity to provide core game features and preserve your progress.
• Purchase information. We receive purchase and entitlement information needed to confirm purchases, restore access, and provide paid or ad-free content. Payment-card details are handled by Apple or another payment provider, not by JANK.
• Advertising, device, and diagnostic information. Our advertising partners may collect device identifiers, coarse location derived from an IP address, ad interaction data, product interaction data, crash data, and performance data to serve, measure, secure, and improve ads and related services.

Advertising and privacy

JANK uses Google AdMob to show rewarded and interstitial advertisements. JANK requests non-personalized ads and disables Google's publisher first-party identifier. On iOS, JANK asks for permission before Google may access Apple's advertising identifier for cross-app ad measurement. If you decline, you can still play, earn rewards, and see non-personalized ads without that identifier.

Advertising partners may still process limited device, diagnostic, and ad-interaction information to deliver ads, prevent fraud, measure aggregate performance, and comply with law. Where required, JANK presents regional advertising-consent choices before requesting ads.

How we use information

• Operate the game, including accounts, progress, multiplayer or social game features, and content unlocks.
• Process purchases, prevent fraud, and restore eligible purchases or entitlements.
• Deliver, measure, and improve advertising.
• Diagnose crashes, maintain security, and improve performance and reliability.
• Send product news or marketing only when you choose to opt in; you can unsubscribe at any time.

Service providers

We use service providers to operate JANK, including Google AdMob for advertising, Supabase for account and game data services, Resend for optional email delivery, and Apple, RevenueCat, or other payment providers for purchase and entitlement services. These providers process information under their own privacy terms and only as needed to provide their services.

Data retention and security

We retain information only for as long as reasonably necessary to provide JANK, meet legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. We use reasonable safeguards designed to protect information, but no internet service can guarantee complete security.

Delete your data

You can permanently delete your JANK profile and associated game data at any time in the app: open your Profile, then choose Delete My Data and confirm. This deletes your player profile, scores, progress, eligible game activity, and JANK analytics associated with that profile. It cannot be undone.

App Store purchases are processed by Apple and remain linked to your Apple ID. If you later start a new JANK profile, you can use Restore Purchases to regain eligible paid access.

Children

JANK is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information to JANK, please contact us through the support channel listed in the App Store so we can address the request.

Your choices and contact

You may manage available advertising privacy choices in JANK, unsubscribe from marketing messages using the link in those messages, and contact us through the support channel listed on JANK's App Store page with privacy questions or requests.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as JANK evolves. When we do, we will update the date at the top of this page.
