Unc can refer to an actual uncle, but in slang it often jokes about someone's age or old-school habits. The joke might target a throwback outfit, an early bedtime, or a reference that younger people do not recognize. It does not require a family relationship.
In a sentence
“You brought a printed map on the road trip? Okay, unc.”
In other words: That choice makes you seem a little old-school.

The same word can feel affectionate among friends and insulting from a stranger. Age jokes depend on the relationship between the people speaking. If you are reading it in a comment, check whether the exchange is friendly before assuming it is a compliment.
